Work will be taking place to clean, test and restart equipment at the Plant which may result in some localised noise disturbance.
This will occur as a result of Steam Blowing activity which we expect to start next Tuesday 4th December. The noise will not be continuous but the work will last for approximately a week.
We value the patience of our neighbours at Tansterne and apologise for this potential disruption.
If you would like to be kept up-to-date on progress at the Plant you can register your email address with us at firstname.lastname@example.org

The Plant is going through the final stages of the Commissioning process.
Over the next few days we will be testing the Plant safety valves. To do this we need to vent steam into the atmosphere from the boiler’s vent silencer. The testing should only take one day to complete and will result in short bursts of noise, normally over a period of a couple of hours being emitted. It is not something we can avoid but will not be part of routine operation.
We appreciate that this may cause you some disruption and will do our best to limit this as much as possible. We will undertake this activity only during daylight hours and will complete it as quickly as safety permits.
Thank you for your patience during the development of this project. If you have any queries please contact us via email@example.com and one of our staff will do their best to assist you.
Work continues on the Plant.
The first of two boilers has completed its ‘steam blow’ and is now coupled to the steam turbine for operation on biomass.
We will be exporting power to the grid a week before Christmas.
Thank you to all involved for their support in achieving this milestone!
The image below shows our “first steam”
The construction phase of the 22MW wood-powered Plant in Aldborugh is almost complete and we have now started ‘hot commissioning’.
The Plant will have two boilers and a steam turbine generator which will produce our renewable energy. The first boiler and the steam turbine generator will become operational over the coming weeks.
During this period there will be a series of “steam blows” where steam will be vented through a silencer to the atmosphere. We need to do this to make sure the pipes taking the steam to the turbine are scrupulously clean. This can result in some noise but we will aim to carry out these blows between 7am and 7pm and will minimise noise around the site whenever we can.
People may also see plumes of steam evolving from the site. This is normal while venting and it is only pure, clean steam.
Once the first boiler is fully operational, we will need to carry out similar steam blows on the second boiler a couple of months later.
We appreciate this may cause some inconvenience for local residents but assure you that this activity will be short-lived.
We are grateful for the continued support of the local community for our award winning project.
